Blackheath is situated in a World Heritage Environment that offers unlimited possibilities to discover this region. Walks vary in duration, intensity and skill.
Our favourite walks are listed below:
Pope’s Glen
Start: Just past the duck pond in Memorial Park.
End: George Phillip’s Lookout, near Govetts Leap Lookout.
Length: 2.6km one-way
Intensity: Easy
Inclination: Flat
Sights: Bushwalking on trail through the bush ending up at a spectacular lookout
Pulpit Rock – option A
Start: Govetts Leap Lookout
End: Pulpit Rock, at end of Hat Hill Road
Length: 4.2km one-way
Intensity: Medium
Inclination: Following cliff edge (very safe!) slight ups and downs – hardest bit at beginning
Sights: Horseshoe Falls – crossing over river, Grose valley beneath
Pulpit Rock – option B
Start: End of Hat Hill Road
End: End of Hat Hill Road
Length: 1km return
Intensity: Easy
Inclination: Downhill to lookout (then uphill upon return!)
Sights: Stunning cliff view-point and for the daring, climb down the iron staircase to stand on top of Pulpit Rock
